I admit, I am anti-AI (I want computers to do the crap jobs, not write for me), Rob, but I can FEEL the wonder of being in a self-driving car through your writing. I always said I would only get a phone when I could talk to it and it would just do what I wanted (like Scotty, gently chiding, "Computer? Computer?" in Star Trek IV , right? And now I never use Siri! But I did put off getting a phone until Dec 2023!
A quick note: The Cars "Drive" was sung by bassist Benjamin Orr, not Ric Ocasek. When Orr died, they stopped playing that song.
This is an incredible story and one of the brightest takes on modern tech I’ve seen. Love the perspective and how you tied it to the past.
